'Tween Waters

Today we took a hike along the mountain ridge that separates Lake George from Lake Champlain. It starts at the top of Mt. Defiance and winds its way through the woods, ending up at this small clearing. As far as we know, it is the only place that you can see both lakes at the same time, and you can actually see that they are at different elevations.

We even saw an Amtrak train pass by on the tracks far below us.
This is a great picture of Dave looking at the phenomenal view while contemplating life. We do wonder how the picnic table made it up to this spot though!
