Rat Sass!

Dave made it back to Hope Town just in time to compete in the 16th Annual Box Cart Derby. This is something that has been in the works since way before his accident. He did several time trials, but in the actual heat race, he was paired against a much faster cart (who won 2nd place), so he was eliminated.

The three wheeled cart itself was a huge hit, especially with all the local kids. Rat Sass was a perfect name and the announcer really had to pronounce it correctly because this is a family event! Dave even used his #31 racing number from back in the motorcycle competition days.

Our friend K. volunteered do the slalom course and he did very well. He claimed he was saving our marriage since I wasn't thrilled that Dave wanted to attempt this on an unproven cart. He was right!

From the look on K.'s face, I think he had lots of fun...as did we all!!
