On The Water

Look who made it out on the water to watch the start of the first race of the Hope Town Cup Regatta...

Many thanks go to Paul and Ann who invited me to join them and our friend Jean to spend a bit of time on their boat Panda. I think Dave, who was racing Sunrise, was surprised to see me out there!

After watching the 8 boats cross the starting line and round the windward mark, we headed back in and took a tour of the harbor. My first trip out was a success thanks to good friends and a very high tide to get in and out of the boat. Of course thanks also to club photographer Will Heyer for the photos.

The following day we had day number 2 of nice weather (finally!) and we took Walkabout to Tahiti Beach on the south end of Elbow Cay and anchored for an hour or so. Dave got in the 73 degree water and cleaned the bottom of the boat while I stood watch looking for any sharks that may meander in from the ocean cut, which of course they didn't. By the time we returned back to the dock, the tide was very low from the super full moon, which made it really challenging getting back up the dock ladder. I made it, so hopefully we will be back to nicer weather and more adventures!
