Below are some pictures of the amazing costumes at this year's Junkanoo parade in Marsh Harbour. They are so ornate, heavy, and hard to wear that some of them are actually set on the ground periodically and change people. The music and beat are intense, and at one point the drummers stopped right in front of us. I was so close that Dave said that my hair was blowing back every time they hit the traditional dried animal skin covered barrels. Another group had girls who did a whole dance routine as they marched down the street and paused to show off in front of us. This is a phenomenal cultural event that we never miss each year.
