We took a trip to Burlington, VT to see how high the water still is, and even though the lake level is falling, there is still flooding in many places along the waterfront.
The Burlington to Port Kent ferry isn't running yet because part of their roadway in is underwater. The ferries aren't at the dock and the ramps are not in place yet.
A couple of weeks ago we stopped at the Port Henry state launch ramp and the water was over the fishing pier, something we had never seen before. It is probably lower now, because the level has gone down almost a foot.
Presently Lake Champlain is just about at the 100ft. above sea level point, which is when flooding begins. After the snow melted and with all the rainy weather, it was almost at 101ft. It is amazing that last fall the level was below normal. Perhaps with it being so high now, it won't happen again this season.
