It was a calm and cool day with a few Sportfishermen flying in and out of the inlet. We had fun thinking about living in the condos along the jetty and watching the activity all the time.
There were two ships anchored offshore awaiting clearance to come into the Port of Palm Beach.
The Port in the distance looked quite busy.
View of Peanut Island from Palm Beach Shores...
After a picnic lunch at the Riviera Beach Municipal Park, we headed over the Blue Heron Bridge to Florida Power & Light's Manatee Center. We figured that there would be quite a few manatees there at the warm water outflow, and there were about 20. However, our cooler weather also brought out lots of tourists and onlookers. The center was packed! We went up to the second floor for a better view of both the manatees and the port.
Although several manatees swam by, we had more fun watching the boats and yachts. Yup, this is definitely Palm Beach!
We also got to see one of the ships that we saw offshore, come in with a pilot boat and two tugs. It was interesting to see it being turned around and backed into its dock at the port.
On our way back through the center, we stopped to check out the underwater camera and look who swam into the picture and posed...
Great statue!
Today was another excellent exploration day and hopefully we get a chance to do it again this winter. We really enjoy mixing our nostalgia with new discoveries!
