Why yes they can and we witnessed it this morning while kayaking Lake George's Northwest Bay Brook! At first I saw it go down to the water's edge in a marshy area. I figured it was going to get a drink but then it kept on walking until it swam to the other side of the brook.
What a lucky sighting and once again, we were the only people around. We also heard and saw two loons and all sorts of birds that I added to my growing life list. What a gorgeous area!
We timed it well too, because as soon as we returned, thunderstorms started rolling in over the mountains. Another '10' day for the record books!
