In mid-July we spent three days up in the Thousand Islands. Although we had some awesome daily kayak trips, our main reason for going was to see the annual charity poker run in Clayton and Alexandria Bay. The speedboats were amazing and the more outboards, the merrier! The most power we saw were five supercharged 500s.
Along with our usual paddle through the shipwreck by the Rock Island Lighthouse, we also hopped in the truck and went out to the edge of Lake Ontario and the Tibbets Point Lighthouse.
A couple of weeks later we returned for the 60th Annual Boat Show and Auction at the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton. We found three different fun places to kayak and the boats in the show were gorgeous (including two Amphicars). Luckily 😉, we didn't come home with anything from the auction.
As always we saw quite a few ships, and the sunsets were gorgeous with the haze from the Canadian wildfires.
Both of these trips were so memorable and we have plans to do it all over again next summer.
