Along the Northern Lake Champlain Shores

What a gorgeous fall day we had to kayak around Rouses Point and Fort Montgomery near the Canadian border. Now that the fort is privately owned, there was a camper parked in the middle of the grounds. Originally, the new owners had plans to make it into a possible winery with wedding or event venues, but apparently that hasn't happened yet.

On our way back to Ticonderoga, we followed the shore road along Lake Champlain and found these amazing life-size sculptures near Point Au Roche. We could have spent hours looking at all the tools, hardware and talent that went into making them (we counted over 20 statues).

The best part is that our extraordinary weather is predicted to continue, so we will definitely be taking advantage of it as long as possible!  😎
