RIP New Horizon

Many aerial photos are starting to come in now that planes can get through to do fly-bys, as Hurricane Dorian moves north out of the area (the Marsh Harbour and Treasure Cay Airports are still closed). I found a news video of Man-O-War Cay where New Horizon, now called Island Time, lives. I took a screen shot of the video taken by Terran Knowles and circled where we found the boat, high and dry, along with many others. There were no boats left floating on that island, including quite a few ferries.

This is a close up, but it became quite blurry.

We have heard that a barge with a 70 ton crane is coming to the islands to help remove boats from land. Who knows, maybe Island Time didn't sustain as much damage as we think, but that is very hard ground. It must have been amazing to watch all the boats blow onto shore.

Keep checking the sailing club website for photos and news. That is how I spend my days. There is even more info to sift through now that relief and evacuation efforts are beginning. Two different families that we know, were evacuated today by helicopter and then brought by plane to Nassau. Such a traumatic experience.
