TOGs spent one last fantastic day on Lake George in Moxie today. We were not alone as old goats, because it was only seniors out on the water, since most families and kids are either back in school or getting ready for it. We love the time after Labor Day, but this year, fall is arriving too early. However, for one final time today, air temps were in the 80's and water temps in the low 70's. After tomorrow's thunderstorms and cold front, the temps will be falling into the mid 60's with some nighttime temps in the 40's! Today we anchored in a couple of different coves and saw another bald eagle and several loons. Plus this monster 'bird' flew over the mountains and banked right over our heads...always fun to see the C-17s cruise down the lake.
Moxie is all winterized now with pink antifreeze in its system and it is hooked up to the battery tender, snug back in the corner of the boat garage, next to the Sea Fox skiff (hopefully next year we will be able to go boating and camping again in the Thousand Islands, so Foxie can get used more).
We are not done up north yet though. A little cooler weather can be better for kayaking, sailing and hiking (notice Dave's recent purchase of a Zuma daysailer, which is a smaller and easier to rig). Stay tuned for more adventures!
