First & Only Trip

For the first, and most likely only time this summer, these TOGs took Moxie down to Log Bay Channel near Bolton Landing. We hadn't planned on going that far south on Lake George, but it was calm, so we just kept motoring. This anchorage is out of the way of busy Log Bay, although being that it is a channel, there is a steady parade of boats to watch as they head to the main gathering spot.

The boat traffic and wakes were tolerable and we even saw a bald eagle near Tongue Mountain. The water was crystal clear and inviting for a swim, but look what the laser thermometer said!

We chose to ignore it and jumped in the water anyway, since our lakes boating and swimming days are numbered (especially if the laser thermometer is any indication). Even if we don't go out again, we can say we went out on a high note...and yes the water was exhilarating. 😉

To top off the day and evening, we went to see if we could catch any beaver action down by their lodge at the middle La Chute River at sunset. We had binoculars with us (but no phone or camera 😞) and we were awestruck to find seven beavers of all sizes munching out on branches on the shore right by the trail! Plus two deer came down the path to complete this day we rated a definite 10!
