Marching

On this, the hottest weekend of the summer, there just happens to be a battle reenactment at Fort Ticonderoga. I certainly wouldn't want to be dressed up in that garb, but these enthusiasts are devoted and feel that back in those days it was hot too. Yesterday a small contingency walked by our house on their hike to the fort after landing their boat at the beach on Lake George. Later the boat went by on a trailer. Back then they would have had to portage it to Lake Champlain, ot at least past the falls on the LaChute River.

To stay cool, we will join the many weekend boaters on Lake George. I think a swimsuit is more appropriate today, but one of these times we would really like to see the reenactment.
