More Antique Engines

Today we 'exercised' the Thunderbird convertible by going to the Tri-County Old Time Power Association's 44th annual antique gas engine and tractor show in Fort Hunter. It was a pretty setting for this event, which was held at the Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site on the Schoharie Creek, close to where it meets the Mohawk River. Although there weren't as many displays as the Gallupville Gas-Up, there were quite a few engines and pumps that we hadn't seen before.

Dave made a replica of a Whizzer a couple of years ago, but this one is the real thing.

That's a lot of engines and pulleys that run a myriad of different purposes!

Dave thought this one sounded like a breathing dinosaur...

I would like to see this driven from that seat on the top!

Oddly enough, we also ended up having a chance encounter with Dave's sister and her husband, who we seem to see in the strangest places (like on I 95 on the way home from Florida). They rode their bicycles on the trail from Amsterdam and we just happened to meet up in a place none of us had been to before. This certainly was another interesting day for us two old goats. 😁
