Annual Boathouse Tour

Lake Placid was beckoning us when the temps were close to 90 degrees in Ticonderoga. We have to really watch the weather when looking for a good time to go to the Adirondack High Peaks, since it can be very chilly up there. Today was the perfect day and only 10 degrees cooler than Ti, not bad for that high up. Foxie was launched and we did a very thorough exploration of the lake, boathouses, and all the beautiful wooden boats that were in them. There seemed to be more flower boxes this year, which were gorgeous. New homes were also being built. This new one had an unfinished boathouse with a boat lift that came up and was part of the dock (look close in the left of the photo). That's the first time we have seen that and a super idea.

I won't won't bore you with too many photos, but here a a few, starting with Cliff Side, which is spelled in the railing. Then look at the second photo with the home that goes with it in the background! Then on to a few more...

Last but not least, this property was for sale! It looked like the owner kept buying boats and and adding boat houses. Sounds like something we would do... 😉

To top off the day on this picturesque lake, we had lunch with Whiteface Mountain as our backdrop. Even with the haze we could see the observation towers at the top.

Dave even went snorkeling twice in the 68 degree clear water. He said it felt warmer than that, but I think he was just trying to entice me in. I watched the loons instead (one surfaced next to the boat as we were cruising along). This was another great day for our memory books.

😎
