Quadfecta

87 degrees, sunny skies, and light south wind = 4 bays in 6 1/2 hours on beautiful Lake George in Moxie! Bay number 1 at 10 AM was in the Waltonian Islands at a place we call Kerstin's Cove, since our friend Kerstin really likes it here and we take her there whenever she comes to visit. We were just in time to watch the junior sailors come out to practice from the Northern Lake George Yacht Club. Some of the kids were really young and one of them in an Optimist Pram was crying most of the time yelling, "pleeeez take me back!" The instructors certainly had a lot of patience. The older kids were doing quite well in the light wind and headed out into the main part of the lake.

Bay 2 was in Arcady Bay where we had lunch and fantastic swimming. However, by noon there were many more people out on the lake enjoying the fantastic conditions like we were. The wakes picked up, so we headed out to try to find a better anchorage.

Missing The Rift in the Thousand Islands, we transited this cut between the Harbor Islands instead...

Every nook and cranny along the shoreline was packed and I can't imagine what it was like in the lower part of the lake, down towards Bolton Landing and Lake George Village. Bay 3 ended up being at Asas Island back in the Waltonians and we were immediately surrounded by ducks...and quite a few people, so we moved on after more cooling off in the water (I almost caught one of the ducks!).

As we were heading back north we noticed that there were three climbers on Roger's Rock.

It is hard to see in the photo below, but they were about halfway up. That rock wall must have been really hot with the sun beating on it.

We saved the best for last and we hadn't even expected it to be this perfect in Heart Bay (yes, it is shaped like a heart). We were all by ourselves and boat wakes were minimal. What is this next to the boat though?

Huge fish? Shark? Lake George sea monster? Nope, just Dave. I missed his first dive photo. LOL

I gave him a score of 9.5 in this our L.G. summer Olympic watersports day. And me? Well, I just walked on water... 😉
