Illuminated

Last night was our first community Christmas extravaganza evening. It started with the streets throughout our park lined with luminaries, which I helped put together a few days ago. There ended up being 375 of them all together! Dave lit the ones out front of our house and some of the neighbors' houses at dusk...

As it became dark and the almost full moon came up, it was gorgeous, including the entrance to the park...

Our little mobile home with its 4ft. tree decorated with our decorations that were salvaged from Abaco really had special meaning this year.

The neighbors are really decorated, and we had to laugh at the blow-up Minions.

Then it was time for the golf kart parade with about 35 karts decorated and participating. The lead vehicle had Santa and Mrs. Claus, and they stopped at shut-in residents' homes and brought them cookies that the other home owners had made, along with singing "We wish you a merry Christmas."

There was even a motorcycle in the parade, so as you can imagine, Dave is coming up with a plan for the Silver wing for next year. Meanwhile it sits happily undercover in front of the van...

The evening ended with a lasagna dinner at the Clubhouse. This is the annual gift to the home owners and served to us by the park owner, employees, and their families. What fun, including live music and a rowdy group of people. It's great to see so many residents involved with the community.

Tonight we just another gold kart go by that somehow we missed last night. It was a Christmas tree, complete with gifts. Definitely a lot of holiday spirit here!
