The Apartment, Before & After

It has been an emotional day going through our mementos that Dave brought back from Hope Town. We have waited 3 months to see what our apartment looks like.

The bottle of rum was on a shelf that flew away, but the bottle landed upright on the counter!

Back bedroom (no before photos)...the wall is gone and left quite a view:

No wonder Dave couldn't find his ice chest filled with tools in this mess!

Dave knew it was going to be bad when he walked in and the first thing he saw on the floor was the broken framed photo of the Abaco Dinghy article in Wooden Boat Magazine alongside of my Hope Town Sailing Club hat that I wore everywhere.

He did save several paintings that were made just for us, but they were wet and covered with insulation:

They cleaned up well though and are drying out on our screened porch, along with several other irreplaceable items (the hippo we have had since 2001):

I can't leave out our Christmas decorations that we have accumulated throughout our lives together and my famous childhood blocks. These were under the bed in the back bedroom that had no wall. Dave had to really scrape and dig for these with a pitchfork type hoe.

Last but not least, he found our sign from the entranceway, so the New Horizon Treehouse can live on!
